About Niall Kelleher
My name is Niall Kelleher and I was elected to Kerry County Council for the first time in May 2014. Born and reared in Rathmore, I am proud to represent the area on Kerry County Council. I am 28 years old and the eldest of four children. I am from a generation that has been devastated by unemployment and emigration. As a businessman, I’m a proud employer in Rathmore, along with my brother in Connie K’s Bar; and as Managing Director of Tangerine Management, which was established in 2012 in Killarney.
As a passionate believer in community activity, I’ve been involved in the Tidy Towns and have previously served as Chairman of Rathmore Community Council and as Secretary of the Rathmore Community Alert Association.
As a proud father of one son, I’m passionate about education, training and job creation. I’ve worked hard to establish a CoderDojo club in Killarney, worked alongside Irish American Technology Entrepreneur Sean O’Sullivan to run the SELR8R programme (helping 18 new businesses grow and create jobs); and I have also worked to create employment opportunities for the long-term unemployed in Kerry, with the Momentum Programme.
Our Community and our County of Kerry needs new initiatives to help create an environment where jobs can be created and we can live with confidence, pride and dignity in our homes. I am a young Councillor with new ideas and a track record of getting things done. I am very much aware of the issues facing people today. I will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of our community. I will be a strong local voice on issues that actually matter.
